About Dogwood Designs

Dogwood Designs was founded in 2025 by up-and-coming designer and fourth-generation horticulturist Carl Schroeder. Coming from a long line of farmers and nurserymen originating in Holland, Carl’s family still operates two garden centers in New Jersey today. Raised around the industry and immersed in plant knowledge since birth, it was only natural for him to branch out and form a new design firm focused solely on the service side of the business.

At Dogwood Designs, our mission is to beautify residential landscapes across South Jersey while promoting the value of plants and outdoor spaces. We are committed to educating clients on how to care for their plant material so it thrives for years to come. By delivering exceptional designs and craftsmanship that stand the test of time, we aim not only to exceed expectations but to set the standard for landscape design in our community.

Carl has been designing landscapes and water gardens for his family's customers for the past 7 years. His lineage has cultivated plants and operated successful garden centers for decades, instilling in him a lifetime of hands-on experience with plant material and landscape practices. This heritage, combined with a modern design perspective, allows Dogwood Designs to deliver both time-tested knowledge and fresh creativity to every project.
